A market correction is already pricing-in proposed statutory changes to some extent, especially with higher interest rates. If you need to sell, remortgage and/or wish to take greater control of management then affordability has already improved so holding back may not be as advantageous.

The popular clamour for the abolition of ‘feudal’ leasehold risks unintended consequences. Commonhold flats may be harder to insure, sell or remortgage with higher costs, likely creating a two-tier market with many residents trapped. Leaseholders can already enfranchise, extend and have the Right to Manage.
